Our seniors have worked really hard over these past months to bring their projects to life.
Mentorship Program
A mentorship program was created during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program helps students with homework, online events, and contests. This student lead activity improved enrollment in the program and ASID membership.

Thermador Diversity in Design IDS Scholarship Winner - Kayla Martin
Kayla Martin is our winner of Thermador Diversity in Design IDS Scholarship and finalist student volunteer of the year.
Our Distinguished International Student for Fresno State University - Shu Yee
Shu Yee is an Honor Student for the College of Arts and Humanities. She is also awarded as a semi-finalist in the National ASID Student Portfolio Competition. Shu Yee has most recently been hired by HLW International LLP, Santa Monica, as a Junior Interior Designer.

Active and Award-Winning Student (Marisol Coria)
During her time at Fresno State, Marisol Coria was a very active member of ASID. Coria received "Best Student Design" at the annual ANDYZ Awards.

We are excited to announce that our Crowdfunding Website is now available. Our goal is to send our students to the International Las Vegas Market in July 2022. The Market is a significant networking opportunity for the students and exposes them to many professionals they cannot meet in Fresno. Please check the link for more information.

Interior Design Alum Shu Yee lands job at HLW International
An interior design alum Shu Yee Chin was employed at HLW International as a Junior Interior Designer in the Los Angeles office, an integrated architecture, design, strategy & planning firm. They work for significant clients such as Amazon, Google, BMW, and Hilton, etc. Chin expands her design concepts, renders drawings and 3D visualizations, prepares design presentations and construction documents under the guidance of associate and senior designers.
Chin was an international student from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Chin became a student member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) through the interior design program. The knowledge allowed her to be encircled by other like-minded students who encouraged each other’s development.
Chin was inspired by many of her professors during her time at Fresno State. Chin credited Sowles with constantly supporting her valuable assistance and guidance. Sowles was also her mentor in the College of Arts and Humanities Honors Program, where Chin fascinated attendees with her magnificent capstone project, “Urban Cultural Oasis.” Her design, based in Oakland, envisioned an art and culture center that generates a therapeutic environment for city residents to relax and heal from their stressful routines.
